Seating Charts

Seating Charts have become an increasingly popular alternative to the traditional place cards. Here are some tips on how to make sure your seating chart is on point.

📜 Know your ABC’s.

Having your guests organized by table number is great for you as you are plotting your guests but when it comes the physical seating chart - organizing by Alphabetical Order is key! It saves your guests the time of having to read through 12 tables before they find where they are sitting.

đź“ś Give a good read.

Making sure your seating chart is easy to read seems like a no brainer - but I have seen many a guest squinting in front of seating chart trying to figure which “Smith” is at table 4 and which is at table 8. Are you outside on a beautiful summer day? Small white pen script font on a reflective mirror may be hard to read. Romantic winter wedding in a dimly lit ballroom? Having your florist place some large pillar candles around the base of your seating chart may be the move.

đź“ś Where in the f*cking world is Carmen Sandiego.

Ditching the table numbers all together and naming every table after the streets where you had your first dates or all the cities you have lived or even all the countries you have visited together is a super romantic idea - in Pinterest theory. The reality is a bunch of people who have no idea where to sit and aimlessly walking around a room looking for the “Lombard Street” table. If this is super important to you I suggest designating your planner or a attendant at the venue to help direct your guests to the right location! Trust me, Great Aunt Brenda has no f*cking clue where the “Ocean City” table is.
